To each their own I suppose. To me, electronic manuals are far superior for everything - including searching. If I can't think of the proper terminology to search for, I use the table of contents, just like paper. Again, to me, there are no advantages of paper and too many disadvantages. I can even annotate PDFs.
Choice is good I guess.

I'm restoring my burned-out home to functionality. I recently ordered about $8000 worth of major appliances. Before they were even delivered, I downloaded and saved on my computer all of their manuals. Searchable.
That's a big plus to electronic manuals I forgot, they're searchable. It means it doesn't really matter how crappy the indices are (if there are any) :-)
