Electronic Manuals are only searchable if you know what the feature for which you are searching is called!
To give a trivial example, one might search for "search" when one should search for "find"

I'm restoring my burned-out home to functionality. I recently ordered about $8000 worth of major appliances. Before they were even delivered, I downloaded and saved on my computer all of their manuals. Searchable.
That's a big plus to electronic manuals I forgot, they're searchable. It means it doesn't really matter how crappy the indices are (if there are any) :-)
