Hi Rich - that is one of the reasons why I had suggested starting new for iOS if you had been away a long time.. 

I lost many a fine app when the iOS 11 came out. We were warned months before that any apps that weren't properly updated would be inoperable. They suggested writing the developer to encourage updating but a lot the developers went " by the board " so to speak.
