Re: [apple-iphone] iPad can't upgrade iOS

My understanding is that your update was to address problems some users of certain devices were experiencing.  My guess is that the update will help prevent future problems for users of those devices so was likely not a waste of your time.

My iPhone 5c was working fine on 9.3, but when I plugged it in to iTunes this morning it told me that there was an update for me. With some trepidation I downloaded it and installed it. All works fine. However, when I go to the Settings app and see what version of iOS I have it is STILL 9.3. I would think the change would be to something such as 9.3.1. Confusing. So did I download something new that did nothing other than waste time?

Checked last night and the 9.3 update was back up.  Updated the iPad 3 and restored it from the iPad 2 backup.  Working fine now and I can sell the iPad 2

I talked to Apple tech support and they said the 9.3 update has been pulled. They hope to have it fixed this week.  In the meantime I've got an iPad 3 that I can't update from my old iPad 2.  I've got the 2 sold but can't give it to the buyer until I can get it's data etc. onto the iPad 3.

I understand that a problem occurred for some owners of older devices so Apple pulled back the update until they are able to fix the problem.  You should be able to proceed then.  Here's some info:

Not an iPhone issue but maybe someone will have some insight.   I just got a used iPad 3 and I'm trying to restore it with a backup.  But the backup was done with iOS 9.3  so it won't work.  So just update the iOS on the newer iPad to 9.3 right ?   But I get a message telling me that iOS 9.2.1 is the latest OS.  If I go to Settings it says my software is up to date.

So how do I get it to upgrade to 9.3 ?

I've tried resetting the new one back to new and am still getting the same message.
