Check Settings > Notifications to see what kind of notifications you have set up for the Reminders app. It's the only thing I can think of.

I have an iPhone 5s, running iOS 9.2.1 and I have the same issue. I used siri to remind me but got no alert, so i didn't if I didn't set it up correctly, should I have said "alert me when…." was my though at the time. Never got it to work for me. Me, I have never used "Do not disturb" so I know that is not it. I'd like to see this issue resolved as I would like to use this feature in the future. I did some searching online but didn't fine anything.
