Turn the switch off under there. Not a bad idea if you have unlimited texting, as iMessage will use your data.

The data requirement for text is one (1) byte per character.

At 1440 minutes per day and 30 days per month, if you type out an average of 60 characters per minute for the whole month, you will use up 60*30*1440 bytes of data in a month.

That's 2.6 megabytes of data.
Assuming you didn't use Wifi for ANY of that (which you could, with iMessage), what is your cellular data limit?
