Re: [apple-iphone] Re: Is it possible to use iphone inexpensiely in Europe ?

Peg,

I looked up your model with Verizon and the phone is unlocked and can use any nano-SIM card that you can get from a carrier overseas.  As an example I got a prepaid SIM card in Spain last year for 20 Euros that gave me 5GB of data, unlimited texting and in country calls for one month.  Note that you will be given a new phone number with a new SIM.

Thank-you Sandy, Brent, Alvin and Jay for your responses.

I went to visit my server (Verizon) I was told that using my iphone in Europe could be very expensive even with their plan for over seas. However, the salesman told me what he does. He uses his ipad to send and receive text messages with little to no cost. So, I think I will do that.

I can imagine many ways your iphone would be handy for you to use during trips!

I do wish using our iphones when we travel would be less complicated, not to mention more reasonably cost.

Thanks, Peg
