Hi Nick - you have Live Photo enabled. Open the camera app. At the top there will be 4 icons along a ribbon. I believe it is the second from left. Looks like a double circle or bulls eye. If you click on it a slash will appear through it indicating it is turned off. You shouldn't get any more little videos.

Every time I take a still photo, the camera is recording a few seconds of movie of the same scene. The camera is set to photo, and not to video, and the movie does not appear on the iphone's Camera Roll, but it is in the camera memory on connection to my PC and can be downloaded - both the still and the movie (both with the same sequential number after the IMG_xxx) are in the memory from just one exposure click. This is bizarre
