Yes, and I have. The problem I had was automatic offloading which I never turned on and which Brent helped me track down.
Interestingly, with auto offload turned on if you reload it you get what you had before which may then be flagged for an update so you have to download it twice. *sigh* If the original version isn't in the App Store anymore you have to start over.
