iOS 12 is suppose to fix things with older iPhones and iPads and they should run faster. I hope that's true.
If I were to lose trust in Apple, I'd switch to something else. I went with Apple in 2006 because I got tied of Windows crashing. Then came the iPhone. I haven't looked back. Now I have the iPhone 8 Plus.
