I love my 6 Plus iPhone. I previously had a 4S and a 5S. These are my reasons for recommending the 6 Plus:
1. I have moderate vision problems due to age and the texts and pictures are much easier to read and see.
2. I have very small hands and wide thumbs, also some arthritis. I never did get used to using even the smaller phones one-handed. So I was already used to holding the phone with one hand and tapping with the other hand.
3. As to dropping the phone, I hardly ever drop it, but I have dropped it a few times with no problem. I also had dropped my earlier phones with never a problem. The 6 Plus fits in my slacks pockets. A couple of my slacks have shallower pockets. The phone still fits in those OK, but I have to be careful when I sit down that it not slide out of the narrower pocket.
I have never had an iPad. With the 6 Plus and a MacBookAir, I don't feel the need to have another device in between.
