Re: [apple-iphone] iPhone charger

My charger has a light that comes on when it is receiving power.

I power my iPhone in the car when I'm using it as a Navigator, and sometimes the connection breaks in the lighter socket (never meant for the way we use it today!) and the light lets me know that I need to re-seat the charger in the socket.

That depends: many vehicles switch the power-plugs with the ignition, and supply NO power to them when the key is out, or even just not turned on. > I also tried to power my phone and I think I blew a fuse because none of my lighters were working. The iPad draws 2.1 amps, the iPhone only 1. A typical resistance-heater lighter draws 10 or 15 amps. The fuse may be blown, but probably because of some other damage, like a short in a charging cord, or a lighter, or the socket itself.
