Re: [apple-iphone] iPhone charger

In theory a decent wattage UPS like:

will do the trick. It can only power a large device like a TV or lamp for 30-90 minutes but if dedicated to charging a phone it could likely last a few days as little a charge as that takes. I primarily use one of these so my Mom can keep watching TV/DVR during brief power outages.

But it is way too much overkill since it supplies 120v which you then downsize to say 5v (which wastes a lot of energy). These kind of batteries are a much better fit since they produce only the 5v needed to match charging needs:

(be sure and read comments for these articles too lots of even better models recommended, and read online/Amazon reviews of the various models before you purchase)

I still maintain my landline, but would like to get drop it. What would make me feel more secure about doing this is some type of back-up battery charging device that would retain enough power to keep my iPhone going in case of a power-failure. I'm not thinking in terms of something attached to the phone, but a gadget that would be plugged in at home and able to keep an iPhone Plus  going for 3 days at least. Anything out there like that?
