will do the trick. It can only power a large device like a TV or lamp for 30-90 minutes but if dedicated to charging a phone it could likely last a few days as little a charge as that takes. I primarily use one of these so my Mom can keep watching TV/DVR during brief power outages.

What would make me feel more secure about doing this is some type of back-up battery charging device that would retain enough power to keep my iPhone going in case of a power-failure.
