Re: [apple-iphone] iPhone charger

about car chargers, I found out when my battery died that they draw battery power even when the phone is not connected if it is plugged into a cigarette lighter.. that is assuming you all do not have an old car like I do w/o

a new type usb built in connector.

I also tried to power my phone and I think I blew a fuse because none of my lighters were working.

My adult daughter's family dropped their landline & keep a few car chargers on hand "just in case".

I still maintain my landline, but would like to get drop it. What would make me feel more secure about doing this is some type of back-up battery charging device that would retain enough power to keep my iPhone going in case of a power-failure. I'm not thinking in terms of something attached to the phone, but a gadget that would be plugged in at home and able to keep an iPhone Plus  going for 3 days at least. Anything out there like that?
