I agree, Werner, I'm also one of those who need to avoid cellular data because of a limited data plan.
I've just returned from holiday abroad where I used data roaming; when I came back the cellular data didn't work. I had to re-enter the WAP and MMS settings manually; I think this is because I use a cheap deal from a supermarket (Leclerc) which rents space on a major French carrier (SFR).
