Re: [apple-iphone] iPhone 5S Lanyard Cases

Charles, Pat & Teresa,

Thank you very much for your suggestions.

I didn't reply immediately as I've been searching the internet for the
ideal solution - but in vain.

I have a small compact camera which has a little metal loop in a
dimple on the side, which I use to attach a neck-strap lanyard. In use
I take the case off and put it in my pocket - it's the camera I want
to protect against accidental dropping, not the case.

What a pity Apple don't have a similar attachment on the iPhone.
Teresa's pouch idea would then work for me. It seems that all the
available iPhone cases rely on a plastic tray with sides that clip the
phone in place, or else are "survival" cases for trekking or sailing
in conditions far more rigorous than I hope my phone will experience.

So I've ordered the SwitchEasy suggested by Pat -
http://amzn.to/1b44ZY4 - it looks like the lanyard is more of a wrist
strap and I'm not sure how well the metal clip fits to the case or the
case fits to the phone.

But for a few Euro I can throw it away if someone else comes up with a
better product. And I should be able to clip the phone complete with
case into a car dashboard mount when I use the CoPilot GPS app.

regards,
Ian

You would still have the phone on a lanyard around your neck. I use Maxpedition pouches for other things and they are very tough and well made. I looked on Amazon and found a Maxpedition mini pocket pouch that is 4"x6", black and has a loop at the top perfect for a lanyard.
