I'm surprised re-creating the account, did not resolve it.
That is why you should back up before you restore. Remember that iTunes does not sync photos, voice messages, texts, and other things.
If you were to take it into an Genius Bar, I am pretty sure that is the next step they would take, a Restore.
One of the first steps in doing a Restore, is back up, but not for those other items I mentioned above.
