I'm sure that re-creating the email account will solve it.

If not, the normal order of resolving most iPhone issues is restart, reset, and lastly restore.

BTW, there is no iPhone 4.1 or 4GS. The model MD257C is a black iPhone 4S, 64 MB, non-US model or unlocked US. Since your ISP is from Canada, that sounds about right.
