Whenever an upgrade happens you must always put the computer sleep to never. I faced similar problem when updating phone. I had to download a fresh copy again. Check if your update is done. If the phone is not loading then it means is was not loaded. Connect the phone and check if you get the option for restore and update. If it does not go through then then google where the file is saved as in the downloaded update. Delete the downloaded file and freshly connect the phone where it would ask to download file again. Once done you're back on. Choose restore and update. Hopefully you shall get back everything if the backup would have happened fine.
