Re: [apple-iphone] New to the group

I'm new to the group too...just bought my first iPhone 4s (Verizon) Wed. from the Apple store.  I am very dismayed to find how quickly the battery drains...from fully charged to 25% when reading my emails today, unable to connect to my home wi-fi due to technical problems...is this normal?  At our local MAC User Group meeting one person said he had to fully charge the battery for an extra two hours to "re-set" the battery...I left the phone on the charger overnight only to drain it today...this did not include getting on the internet...just reading email.

Is there an external battery  or a back-up?  The guy at Verizon said no.  Most of the time I'm able to get on the wi-fi networks in various places so I don't use up my 2GB data level per month...but how can I improve drain of the battery?
