to sync manually open iTunes and navigate to DEVICES. then CHECK the box
that says PREVENT IPODS, IPHONES AND IPADS FROM SYNCING AUTOMATICALLY. from
that moment forward you'll be able to control what syncs and when. this
assumes that the newer version of iTunes is the same as the version
(10.1.3.55) i'm currently using with my iPhone 4.

In the directions of my order notice, the instructions say I may be asked to
sync with iTunes while setting up the iPhone. I'm not a Mac person but do
have the current version of iTunes on my PC. Will I have the choice of what
is transferred to my iPhone? Music is OK but I'd rather enter by hand the
few contacts I wish to keep on the iPhone. I'm guessing I have to use
iTunes for apps downloads? Just don't want to make a mess of everything
right off the get go.
