The problem could be the cord, not the phone.

There's an intermittent fault with the charging function. I have to wiggle the lightning connector before the charging icon appears on the screen

If NOT, can anybody indicate what it will cost to have it fixed professionally?
I guess this will mean a trip to the nearest Apple shop with parking!
