Very many thanks to everybody who responded

I took the iPhone back to the supplier under Warranty, they sorted out the problem and I collected it yesterday

Supplier's staff were all very polite and helpful throughout.

I have owned an iPhone 6s for a couple of months

There's an intermittent fault with the charging function. I have to wiggle the lightning connector before the charging icon appears on the screen

Is  this something that I can fix myself? 

If NOT, can anybody indicate what it will cost to have it fixed professionally?

I guess this will mean a trip to the nearest Apple shop with parking!
