Re: [apple-iphone] Photos and ringtones

Jim, Backups can still be done to iCloud in iTunes and on your phone. The way that works didn't change.

Thank you for that information.

Does anyone know of an app that will back up the iPhone data completely?

I can't help with the photos issue, Mickeydoyle13, but I've just been on the phone with Apple about the ringtones problem. I had several I'd made myself and didn't want to lose, but they were no longer on my iPhone. Here's what to do:

1. Find where you have the files stored on your computer (mine is a Mac, so it was in ~>Music>iTunes>iTunes Media>Ringtones).
2. Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes.
3. Select the icon of the iPhone near the top of the window and then Tones (under On My Device).
4. Select all of your tones in the Finder window and drag and drop them to the Tones window.
5. Sync your iPhone.

Now you'll have to reassign all of those tones to the specific contacts or groups, but they'll be there. :)

I've got two issues since I upgraded to the 8 plus that I've not been able to track down a fix for.

1. I have not been able to access old ringtones even though they are supposedly on the phone. They aren't showing up as ringtone options.

2. I have deleted nearly all photos (I use Google Photos as my backup/archive source). I have about 20 photos on the phone but it says I have more than 3,500 using nearly 21gb of space. I have tried the phone reboot to no avail.

Any suggestions for either? Thanks.
