Hi, Ask yourself How does my carrier security updates & other carrier system updates get to my iPhone? If you answered by my carrier pushing updates to my iPhone, then you have your answer to what occurred when you received an update from Verizon while you were out tending to errands yesterday. If you answered that that carrier security & other system updates are installed when doing an update from Apple or you don't actually know the answer As a friendly suggestion I recommend Googling how carrier updates get installed onto your phone. I do agree that as a phone user I should be offered the option to accept the carrier updates or decline them. Donna
