[apple-iphone] Drag and Drop in iOS 11

I will on occasion copy and paste photos and/or text from an item in Mail over to an item in Notes. This is usually done on the iPad. Then the changes in Notes appear on the iPhone and iMac. However, since upgrading to iOS 11 this process has run into some speed bumps. Drag and drop is available and that is pretty cool. And copy and paste is still there. But if I use either of those methods on the iPad what shows up on the iMac is a mystery.

Photos seem to transfer okay. Text however transfers as a table! The iMac (yes, an older machine) cannot open the table. Even on the iPad the transferred text looks odd. The old copy and paste when carried out on the iMac appear quite well on the other devices.

Any ideas on this and is there any way to "fix" it?

Thanks in advance,
George
