Re: [apple-iphone] Re: Strange carrier update occurrence UPDATE

Hmm, I received a service update from AT& T on My iPhone 6 & 7 both using IOS 10.3.3. And my partner received the same on his Samsung. Neither of us have Roaming on. Sounds like Verizon just made up something to passify you.

UPDATE: Verizon told me to turn off roaming. I never turned it on so I am guessing it is a default setting.

iPhone 6 plus on the Verizon network. iOS version 11.0.3

This afternoon a message appeared on me iPhone notifying me that my Verizon carrier settings were updated. I noticed this message while I was only on cellular service, I was in the parking lot of a shopping mall in Delaware.

However after that another message appeared asking me to confirm my carrier.

The only choice was WorldWide_WiFi .  This seemed strange so I did not accept the change.

I have not noticed any problems with the phone since, so far it seems to be working normally..

My concern is that someone or some entity was trying to trick me into switching carriers.

I contacted Verizon support via Twitter and they seemed somewhat concerned but not as much as I would expect. I am still in a conversation with them.

Coincidently I visited an Apple store shortly after this incident and asked the people there but they had no idea why this happened. I plan to visit a Verizon owned and operated store tomorrow unless Verizon support on line offers a better answer than what I have received so far.

I did buy the larger iPad Pro and about a half dozen of you are responsible for me exceeding my budget. [smile].

Comments and suggestions are welcome,
