Two things to note:

1. If you installed 12.7, you may need to rebuild your iTunes library completely after installing 12.6.3

2. If you are running 12.6.3, and not 12.7, you will not get notices for security updates for iTunes.

What I would like to see is a free-standing App-Store-for-iOS analogous to the free-standing Podcasts app.
