Re: [apple-iphone] Re: Disappearing Music

I do use two large external hard drives, one networked and one air gapped when not being written to.  I advise everybody else to do the same, because ransomware is uncontrollable.   I hope someday Media Monkey and Anytrans are released for Mac owners - who have large libraries and it is critical that their songs do not suddenly go missing.  I do radio - I go into a station with a quite different format library on their servers - two iPads enable me to program my format on the station - just plug 'em in to the board using adapters.  I encoded the songs using very high bitrate MP3, the optimod gets the handles it needs to do its job.  Listeners can and do ask for obscure titles that need to be in the library without fail.  I cannot risk a "sync" deleting music files - iTunes deleted folder view a long time ago that I was using to add one or two songs at at time, that is when I went to Media Monkey.   Songs were also strangely disappearing with sync that was taking longer and longer as the library grew.  I have not had a single song disappear since using Media Monkey.  I find the ratings, playlists, and most played features annoying - but they are not overly intrusive and I can quickly scan through hundreds of artists and thousands of songs in seconds setting up the next song to be played on the air.  Zero lag time is nice.
