I would try a hard reboot by holding down the On/Off and Home buttons together until the Apple logo appears on your screen.

This morning while using my iPad and "writing" all of a sudden it was as if the keys (not actually using a key pad) froze and I couldn't type anything. I tried refresh. I was on Facebook so I tried logging out.  
I still could not type anything. I could not log back in.  I tried doing a google search but could not enter anything in the search field.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
