The only thing I did was change my Apple ID email to a different email
Seems more like you adressed a new Apple-ID as the rightfull owner of your Mac.
This could happen if several people share one hardware with different accounts.
Only one account (and Apple-ID) can be active. If you change this mainaccount,
this new situation will have to stay for 90 days before it can be reversed again.
I ran into this when my wife bought her iPhone. Linking the Phone to her account
on our common iMac in the living room, also switched my iTunes-account on that
machine offline.
