I just bought an iStabilizer Shutter Remote. It is a blue tooth device that enables you to remotely trigger the camera shutter for taking photos and videos, as well as many other features.
My purpose in getting it is to mount the camera on a tripod and remotely start and stop video recording.
However, when I press the camera button on the remote, after putting the iPhone in video mode, the screen goes out of focus, the little red light at the top indicates recording, the timer goes and music plays. But it is not really recording anything and I can't stop it. I have to power off the iPhone to get rid of the out of focus screen in the camera app and stop it from recording.
When I use it to take a picture, it takes the picture but then plays music from the music app. I think this is the problem. When the music is playing, the video recording just hangs.
The remote makes use of the fact that pressing the volume up button triggers the camera shutter or video start/stop. It works fine not using the remote.
This is on an iPhone 5S iOS 7.1.1
Any ideas?
