Re: [apple-iphone] Youtube

I agree with Alice, although not as intensely. (Sorry, Alice!)

Maps works great, its a free turn by turn voice GPS. But, it hasn't been tested proepry and sat view is misaligned with standard view (which is the satnav data)

Youtube, I'm happy with. Good business decision and I like the new app better.

Bumper cases, yes, we want something, anything, on day one.

Adaptors, yes, WHY is there none? I donlt need one, many don't, but those who do are left out.

Tim Cook? Well, my personal view is that he will be better than SJ. Not becaise he IS better, but I feel that he will act more in the modern smartphone market, and not hold stuff back as SJ had, for emotional reasons. Case in point is screen size. 3.5 is so yesteryear these days. Apple needs to make a 3.5 or 3..7 or 4 that is smallest form factor, and make a 4.6 that is smallest form factor. They can, I've measured my 4S to see how. That is a big Win if they go that way. Hardware is at the end of the line, you won't see any phones from any manufacturer that are nothing more then incremental

You are focusing on the negative which is wrong. All that you mentioned I see as a positive. YouTube and Maps was removed due to a business decision not to pay google anymore for them. They created their own maps app which I think is tons better!! Certainly all maps apps have issues. I know because I have use them all. None are perfect. YouTube app was released in time for launch day. The new app is tons better than the previous!

I found many places in my area that sell iPhone 5 cases. I was able to pick from 4 different ones on launch day!

So in my opinion Apple is doing by far better than before.

Apple did wrong by not having 8-pin cords and adapters ready for sale on launch day. We know now that Tim Cook is no Steve Jobs. Lets face it, Apple has been in the tech business a VERY long time. They've done enough Keynotes to know what to expect and what they have to do to please their loyal customers. This, to me was a screw up that should have never happened. There is no excuse for this. Tim Cook should know this. Let's hope future launches go better.
