If that app needs internet to download maps. There are gps apps that have built-in maps. Quite big in size but saves you the hassle when you are in an area with poor coverage. Not to mention saves data for those not on unlimited.

Am I correct in assuming you would need unlimited cell-phone minutes if you were going to use an iPhone App as your primary GPS?
