Re: [apple-iphone] How to get 5

Wow. You really had fun there. Although I would have just came on opening time. Camping for some devices is just not for me.

The only iDevice launch I attended was for the iPhone 4S because I and my dad got VIP invites from our carrier. And the venue was in an upscale mall and the event started 10PM. They opened around four or five restaurants and fed all attendees all you can eat. There were programs with prizes like MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs, iPads, travel, etc. My cousin who happened to be there won a MacBook Air in a "bring me" game (jealous!!!). And all six cinemas in the mall showed Mission Impossible 4 for free. We did not finish the movie and went out mid-runtime just in time to be the 800th+ to claim his new iPhone. They started distributing the phones at midnight. Got mine around 1:30 AM after we walked out of the movie. Went home and slept. Not too excited that I started setting it up the next morning.

Sent from my fingers via the iPad!

I met all kinds of interesting and friendly people in line who love talking about their Apple babies. Some are even like me, no naked iPhones, iPads or Apple laptops. I even met a deaf man who taught me a couple ASL signs and learned a thing or two about the Apple accessibility things he uses on his MBP. I may have not been in the right place at the right time to see how Microsoft does things on the day their products come out. That would be interesting too. My first Mac was an iBook. I bought it just before Tiger came out. I went down to the Apple Store thinking I could walk right in and pick up a copy. Newbie me, there was a line and the Apple Store just opened for the day. It wasn't a very long line, so I got in line, worked my way up to the store and when I bought my copy of Tiger, was given a nice black shirt with the black Tiger X on it and the purple star background that was the default desktop wallpaper. One never knows what to expect from Apple.
