I used a Mophie for a long time. Bought a Richard Solo on sale. I found I don't like the Richard Solo for most uses because it gets in the way of using my iPhone. The Mophie is a battery charger/case. It doesn't make the iPhone that much thicker, just the same as a case. Mophie is having their Black Friday sale today http://www.mophie.com/battery-cases-s/51.htm

I haven't tried the Mophie, but I used another battery case for a while, and the phone no longer fit comfortably into my shirt pocket, where I always keep it (until they issue a surgically implantable model! ;-). The company sells one that plugs directly into the phone, and one that uses a cable--the latter is much more versatile. Checking their site now, I see they also sell bigger ones that can charge an iPad and other devices.
