[apple-iphone] ITunes gift certificate spam?

 

I just received an email supposedly from iTunes. I have never received a gift certificate from iTunes and want to be sure it is safe to open the attachment. It doesn't look legit. I have copied the body of the message :

%%ROT#Dear customer,#Hello,%%

You have received an iTunes Gift Card Certificates in the amount of $50
You can find your certificate code in attachment below.

Then you need to open iTunes. Once you verify your account, $50 will be credited to your account.
So you can start buying games, music, video right away.

iTunes Store.

The attachment is a good reader PDF.

Am I correct in assuming this is spam???
