If these devices aren't providing useful functions, sell them and get a flip-phone and a Timex
Smartphones have become a necessity, and the need will only intensify..
I dislike the cheap, greedy thing that Apple's become, but that's life.

At introduction in 1977, the Apple II listed for $1298 ($5367 in 2018 dollars).
5¼" floppy, no hard drive, 64 kB of memory.
Now you can put a supercomputer, telephone, messaging system, a whole library of books, etc. in your shirt pocket for under $1000.
