I'm not. I have a X and it is sufficient at this time. I want to wait til next year to possibly get 5G and a radical new design. (Although that may carry with it the risks of unforeseen issues with a new design).

I'd guess it depends mostly on what iPhone you have now. As you say, if you have a pretty recent model, it's probably not worth it. I have an iPhone 5, so it's well past upgrade time :-). I'm looking at an iPhone 11 Pro, probably 256G but may decide to splurge for 512G. I want to see them in person first though so won't be ordering anything until I get to an Apple store.
