Re: [apple-iphone] Photos imported not deleted

I stand corrected - yes I wish to delete the "exported" photos on the iPhone.  That is no longer possible automatically and several taps are required to manually delete all of them.  Quite a cumbersome operation.

Earlier, you wrote:
When I import photos into my MacBook from my iPhone XS (latest iOS) the option to delete imported photos does not appear

I note that "delete imported photos" can only mean "delete from the Macbook that imported the photos", since on the iPhone they are EXPORTED photos, not IMPORTED.

This is done within iPhoto/Photos on the Mac, so you are importing *into* the app, then deleting *from* the camera/phone.

I plug in my iPhone XS into the Macbook and import the photos into the app iPhoto.

Current and recent versions of macOS do not include the app "iPhoto".
Not doe the iOS on the iPhone XS.

Photos was released with OS X 10.10.3 as a replacement for iPhoto, although you could continue to use iPhoto if you preferred.

Earlier iPhoto allowed one the option to delete the imported photos.

You mean the app on the Macbook somehow deleted the images on the iPhone?
I don't think so.

This has been a feature of iPhoto and then Photos since... whenever. Connect any camera, including an iPhone, and you have that option. I still have it in my Photos v3.0, which I thought was the current version. Presumably the Photos version that comes with 10.14 has, for no good reason, omitted it.

Does 10..14 still include Image Capture, another app for importing photos?
