iOS appears to keep lots of junk that could be deleted (Other). I know of 2 ways to force it's removal. 1. Backup to iTunes, restore to factory, then restore the backup. 2. Download some large games, that you don't want, which won't actually fit in the available space, iOS will clear some junk to make space, delete the games, you will have more free space that when you started!

Then, without any new apps, and pretty much the same habits I previously had, the phine started filling up.
I have deleted a large amount of music, and later many apps, but now the phone stays nearly full (6 GB free, often less). On my MacBook Pro, iTunes says that I am 2+ GB over capacity.
Since the Storage & iCloud Usage section of Settings isn't very specific, I can't figure out where the data is piling up. (I'm suspicious of Mail.)
Here are the fattest users:
• Podcasts 8.9
• Music 6.47
• Photos 4.37 (I always delete after importing, but it doesn't seem to matter)
• Mail 2.16 (Even after emptying all mail, it's always above 1.9)
• NYTimes 2.16
• Flickr 1.94
Has anyone else dealt withthis problem? How did you resolve it? (Or improve it?)
