Presuming this beta represents all of the features and changes that will be found in the release version.

In the past, things like this have changed.

Have you tried the highest rated email app?
With 4.5 stars in iTunes, the Yahoo Mail app is the highest rated email app on the market. What are you waiting for? Now you can access all your inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, AOL and more) in one place. Never delete an email again with 1000GB of free cloud storage.

I tried Assistive Touch as well and that didn't work either. I agree it seems like there are times when it would be useful.

If you can't find a calculator that already has that feature, maybe find a calculator you otherwise like and suggest the feature to the developer? Wouldn't solve the general case, but might get you a calculator that does what you want.

You don't say what device or version of iOS you're using, but on both my
iPhone 5 and iPad Air 2 running 10.2.1, if I swipe up from the bottom of
the screen, a little control panel pops up. Along the top is a row of
icons, the right most one a lock with a circle with arrow surrounding
it. That's orientation lock. Tap it to lock the device in whatever
orientation it's in when you tap it.

Oops, never mind. It looks like on an iPhone, it's a portrait lock. When
I activate it in landscape mode, it immediately puts the device in
portrait mode and locks it there. Sorry for the misinformation.

If those numbers are correct, your iCloud storage is 76% EMPTY, not "almost full".

(Please don't laugh. I don't have a child around here to teach me how to do this stuff.)

Now some questions.

How do things get put into iCloud?

iMore is my go to website to learn how to do things with my iPhone. Here's a link all about iCloud.

http://m.imore.com/how-use-icloud-iphone-ipad-mac-and-ipod-touch

I have never sent anything there. I don't even know what is in the iCloud!

Is there anything on my iPhone that does not take up storage space?

Anything put on your iPhone takes up space.

Do messages & pictures  use up storage space?

Yes. They can take up quite a bit of space depending on how many photos you're storing and at what resolution.

Here's a link to the Photos Ultimate Guide

Here's a link to using your iPhone camera

http://m.imore.com/camera-ultimate-guide?client=safari

Are there things I can't see or might not be aware of taking up storage space?

Yes. Quoted a number of people don't know about "Other" file.

Here's a link to an explanation of what it is and what to do with it.

What are my options... Is there a quick, easy and painless (no expense) way to take care of this?
I can't say for sure... but I think some updates added some stuff (apps) to my phone. Do they do that?  I see a little TV app I don't recall adding.
I need step-by-step answers, pretty please?

Here is a link to freeing up space on your iPhone

Here's a link to the free imore app that I use all the time. It has lots of articles in it and the imore forum. It's constantly getting new articles.

Thank-you for any help you can provide.

Re: [apple-iphone] Storage & iCloud Questions

99¢ a month is totally worth it for iCloud. I keep just about everything in iCloud.....iBook books and PDF's, photos, documents, 2 backups of my phon. I get lots of use out of iCloud.

I kept hitting the 5GB limit for iCloud so I am now paying Apple $.99 a month for 50GB. I know you said no expense but it worked well for me.

There is a plugin for Windows that lets you manage iCloud storage. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204283

You will love the iPhone 7 when you get used to it.
