Re: [apple-iphone] Unresponsive Apps

The missing apps are still listed in my Library, but they can't be re-added, as the original files are missing — I'm assuming missing from the App Store. I do understand why Apple cleaned up the App Store; I'm not complaining. There's only one app that I'm a bit sorry about, but I will live. ;)

On your topic of availability:

1) Did you check the "front" of the App Store, or the Purchased tab? You really have a chance to find obsolete apps through Purchased.

2) You might be able to reinstall those apps from a computer that you had backed up to. I remember finding the distribution files on a Windows computer and being able to reinstall an obsolete app from there. Don't know about iCloud (that I now default to).

3) Apple recently cleaned up the App Store with a purpose. It might be in your own interest to live without certain apps. (I said "might be", not "definitely is".)

That hasn't been my experience. I had to get a replacement iPhone 6s (battery problem) and restore from a backup. Any apps no longer available in the iTunes Store were *not* available for me to re-add to my phone, despite the fact that they'd been on my original iPhone 6s. Now, I can't say that they stopped working — just that they aren't available for re-download.

I did some searching and Apple didn't say abandoned apps would quit working. People who have them can continue to use them and download from the app store. There will be no new downloads of the apps. This does not appear to be your proble unless Apple changed their mind. Here is a link to an article.

Apple warned developers some time ago that if they did not update their apps they would be removed from the app store and quit working. I would guess that time is up for the developer.

I have a few apps which don't work today. Several had previously showed the warning "may slow down your phone, developer needs to update". It's odd tho that so many stopped working today. Any clue?
