I originally got involved with EarSkinz when they were a kickstarter product. I have reordered them since that first purchase. They really work and are very comfortable on the regular iPhone earbuds, but
I have not tried them on AirPods.

This looks like a good solution. Thanks to the previous poster who pasted a link to that AirPod strap at Amazon -- I did a little further searching and found these:
