Re: [apple-iphone]

I thought the Apple male/female USB cable came with my MBP, but after looking at the original packaging, it must have come with my Quicksilver. I don't buy knock-offs so it must have come with an Apple product.

The Quicksilver has no USB port on the front, so a male/female USB cable makes sense.

I assume the "3-way" is passive hub. It is a Belkin swivel hub, but has a port to accept a wall wart. Yes, the power would be split if there were a draw, but like I said, the scanner is the only one that draws power from the USB cable. When the hub is plugged directly into the MBP, there is no power issue with the scanner. The only change is to add the male/female USB cable between the MBP and the hub.

I'm trying to avoid going back to a powered USB hub and the extra power usage.
