Re: [apple-iphone] Data usage discrepancy

Over a period of months, like you have noted, the error should "wash out". But if it is continually 200 MB over each month, it sounds like it is not a variation in when the usage readings are being taken between you and AT&T.

I would try and find a e-ddress and send them an email asking about this. The reason I suggest using email, is to document your query and their reply. 200MB is probably not going to send you over on your monthly plan, but it does add up over time and they have been caught in other inaccuracies, and now is the time to document it.

Let us know their reply.

BTW, I have started to track and compare my data usage, even though i currently use less than 1 GB on an "unlimited" plan.

But if it was just a matter of when the reading was taken, surely over the long term, say four or five months, the two figures - the iPhone figure and the AT&T figure - should just about match each other. And they don't. Every month, the AT&T figure for how much data I have used is significantly greater than the iPhone figure.

That is apparent by comparing the stats in tha AT&T app to actual usage. I don't think there is a way to accuratly compare one to the other.
