Re: [apple-iphone] charger port problem? or something else?

I have had charging cables, almost always non-Apple brands, "go bad".  They work for months and then suddenly the charge rates slows down or they don't charge at all or I get that error message.

Did you try another cable?

I think they are unrelated. The warning about the accessory happens every once in a while. The problem with charging may be due to dirt in the lightening port.

I have an iPhone 6+, 64 GB, which I sync with a MacBook Pro. I also use a Mophie JuicePack for battery life and drop protection.

A few days ago, I started getting a strange alert, "This accessory may not be supported," and now, my phone is having trouble charging. When I woke up yesterday I saw that the phone wasn't fully charged, and in the course of the day I noticed that although it's plugged in, the phone stops frequently stops charging.

What could be the reason for the alert message, and does it relate to my charging problem?
