Are the phones locked to Airtel and Vodafone? If not, get a local SIM (German and Hungarian, sounds like sausages LOL).
If not, purchase any navigation app that works offline (has preloaded maps).

Subject: [apple-iphone] India to germany and hungary
We are planning to drive from munich to budapest next month. Our iPhones are on the indian carriers Airtel and vodaphone. I'd like to use the navigation and built in maps. What to do to avoid exorbitant roaming charges?
