Did you set up his yahoo email by going into settings/mail,contact,calendars, tapping add account and choosing Yahoo? That is the easiest way to do it. Will he be using iTunes? If so, he will need an iTunes account.
Would Gmail be better? I don't know. You have an Apple product not a Google product. IMHO, maybe try Apples services before someone else's ;-)
My husband recently bought his first Apple device, an iPhone 4. When I tried to set up his yahoo mailbox I get the message "server cannot retrieve mail." I can get to his yahoo mailbox via the website using Safari
He doesn't have an Apple/iTunes ID. Is this the problem? Would he be better off using Gmail?
