Re: [apple-iphone] IOS Update Observation

Over the air updates have always been faster. They do not download the whole thing. More like patches. At least for minor updates. e.g. 6.0.x, 6.x, 7.0.x, not 6.0, 7.0, x.0

Good Morning all,

Just an observation to post.  There was an update available this morning (7.0.2).

I plugged my iPhone 5 into iTunes, and started the download.  It said it would take 60 minutes.

Then I got my husband's and my iPads and started the downloads on them – one at a time and not plugged into iTunes.

The two iPads were completely finished with the updates before iTunes had finished downloading the updates.

It took about 10 minutes to do 2 iPads, and an hour and 20 minutes to update my phone through iTunes.

And I thought iTunes was supposed to be faster.  LOL
